GRANDMOTHER’S BUTTONS INTRODUCES ADJUSTABLE BUTTON RINGS AT AMERICASMART ATLANTA

ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA    This small south Louisiana company, makers since 1985 of unique jewelry featuring antique buttons, is delighted to introduce a grouping of rings with adjustable bands.  Rings are already the company’s best-selling items, and these new rings, which do not require the stocking of sizes, promise to be even more popular.

“We are so pleased with the vintage styling and substantial feel of our new adjustable rings,” explains designer and owner Susan Davis.  “To make them, we stack and rivet a variety of filigree stampings to heavy brass, vintage-style ring bases; then we set the antique or vintage buttons into the stampings.  Sometimes natural stone donuts are also incorporated as holders for the buttons, which all are left intact with the shanks attached.”

These rings are all lower-priced than the company’s original, sterling silver rings.  Their flexible sizing, as well as their careful construction and beautiful design, make them an attractive choice in today’s economy.

The company has seen a rise in sales and interest in its products, despite the current recession.  Owner Davis attributes this interest to a growing consumer attraction to products with an authenticity often lacking in mass-produced, imported goods.  “Our jewelry is all hand-made in Louisiana, in the second-floor studio of our 1905 bank building.  All of our bracelets, necklaces, watches and rings are created with authentic antique buttons, circa 1870 to 1910, or vintage glass buttons from the 1920s to the 1950s.  I think when shoppers part with their money today, they don’t want to buy trinkets, they crave something with intrinsic, lasting worth.”

Grandmother’s Buttons will bring hundreds of one-of-a-kind button pieces to their booth at the Atlanta Gift Market, Handmade Booth 2-300 on the second floor of Building 3.  For more information on Grandmother’s Buttons jewelry, call 800-580-6941, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or visit the company’s website at http://www.grandmothersbuttons.com.
